I’m Paula Kearney, a CBT therapist with a background in mindfulness, compassionate coaching, and yoga. My training and personal practice in these disciplines have given me a deep appreciation of the crucial connection between mind and body, which I bring into both my work and my life.
My approach is evidence-based, warm, and compassionate. I aim to create a safe and engaging space where clients feel understood and supported, while also working productively towards positive change.
I have two decade of professional experience across education, research, wellbeing, and therapy. I began my career as a teacher before moving into research and later becoming Head of Wellbeing across a group of schools. Alongside my private therapy work, I’ve also delivered workshops in corporate settings on topics such as compassionate leadership and workplace wellbeing.
My academic journey started in Ireland at UCD and Trinity College Dublin, before I moved to the UK where I completed postgraduate training in mindfulness and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Treatments at the Charlie Waller Institute, University of Reading.
I have worked with young people, parents, families, and professionals around issues including exam stress, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. One of the highlights of my mindfulness work was supporting London students whose experiences led them to speak at Parliament about how mindfulness had transformed their mental health and resilience.
In recent years, my corporate workshops have allowed me to combine creativity and evidence-based methods to help individuals improve both their wellbeing and their experience of the workplace.
Above all, compassion is at the heart of my work. I believe therapy should not only address challenges but also nurture resilience, kindness, and self-understanding. As a therapist, a mother, a partner, and a friend, my own lived experiences continue to inspire and ground me in this work, motivating me to help others navigate life’s complexities with greater ease and confidence.
I offer a range of one-on-one sessions that focus solely on my customers’ needs. During my sessions, we can deal with a range of personal problems such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, familial problems such as building your children’s’ self-esteem, or work related matters such as compassionate leadership and burnout.
